LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -Tyrell Fenroy ran for three touchdowns and a career-high 178 yards on 26 carries as Louisiana-Lafayette defeated Arkansas State 28-13 on Saturday.

On the season, Fenroy has 196 carries for 1,079 yards and became the first player in school history with two 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

The Ragin' Cajuns improved to 6-6 overall and 4-3 in the Sun Belt Conference. The loss kept Arkansas State (6-6, 4-3) from having its first winning season since 1995.

UL scored twice in the fourth quarter after ASU used a field goal to cut the Cajuns' lead to 14-13 at the 14:53 mark.

But Louisiana-Lafayette put together a seven-play, 80-yard touchdown drive covering the next 3:22. Jerry Babb completed two passes totaling 25 yards and Fenroy ran four times for 17 yards before Babb ended the drive with a 23-yard touchdown run.

Fenroy put UL ahead by two scores at the 6:45 mark with his third rushing touchdown.

Babb had 107 yards passing and 74 yards rushing. He completed 10-of-18 passes and he was intercepted once.

The Indians were led by running back Reggie Arnold's 156 rushing yards on 18 carries. Corey Leonard finished with 132 yards passing and 64 yards rushing. Leonard completed 13-of-30 yards.

ASU scored on the game's first series on a 38-yard field goal by Josh Arauco.

In the second quarter, Fenroy scored on a 7-yard run to make it 7-3. Leonard's 15-yard pass to Levi Dejohnette with 10:43 before the half made it 10-7.

A fumble at the ASU 42-yard line led to Fenroy's second TD run, a 2-yard jaunt with 4:29 left in the second quarter to give UL a 14-10 lead at the halftime.
