MONROE, La. (AP) -Calvin Dawson rushed for 117 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown as Louisiana-Monroe shut down North Texas and won 23-3 on Saturday.
ULM (3-8, 2-4 Sun Belt Conference) totaled 409 yards of offense, with 216 of them coming on the ground and 193 through the air.
Kinsmon Lancaster completed 12-of-19 throws for 193 yards with no interceptions for ULM.
The ULM defense held North Texas (3-9, 2-5) to just 137 yards of total offense and 74 yards rushing. Josh Thompson and Greg James each picked off a Mean Green pass attempt while holding UNT to 63 yards through the air.
The game was the final game in the nine-year North Texas career of head coach Darrell Dickey and the final game for Johnny Quinn, who concluded his career by catching at least one pass in every game he played in. Quinn's streak of 47 consecutive games with at least one catch is the third-longest active streak in the nation.
North Texas went three-and-out on its first two possessions while Louisiana-Monroe went 60 yards on five plays to score on a 1-yard run by Calvin Dawson.
Louisiana-Monroe went up 10-0 on a 33-yard field goal with 8:41 to play in the first half.
North Texas settled for a 37-yard field goal to cut the lead to 10-3 with 2:58 to play in the first half.
The Warhawks drove to the North Texas 32-yard line on their opening drive to make it 13-3 with a 49-yard field goal.
After forcing the North Texas offense to a three-and-out, the Louisiana-Monroe offense took the ball 82 yards on eight plays and kicked its third field goal of the game with 6:30 to play in the third quarter.
Louisiana-Monroe added a late fourth-quarter touchdown when Erroll Hogan ran through the Mean Green defense for a 24-yard score.
