AKRON, Ohio (AP) -Quarterback Dan LeFevour's 1-yard touchdown run with 1:31 remaining and a 2-point conversion capped a 15-point fourth-quarter to give Central Michigan a 35-32 victory over Akron on Friday and a spot in next week's Mid-American championship game.
The West Division-winning Chippewas (6-5, 5-1 MAC) face East-winning Miami (Ohio) in the title game Dec. 1.
Central Michigan, down 32-20, scored on LeFevour's 30-yard pass to Kito Poblah with 6:58 left and then on LeFevour's run and 2-point conversion on a run by Duane Brooks.
The Zips (4-7, 3-4) scored first on Bryan Williams' 61-yard run with 6:29 left in the first quarter.
Central scored on Ontario Sneed's 5-yard run, then Akron scored three of the next four touchdowns but missed two tries for extra points. Its final score came on a 7-yard pass from Chris Jacquemain to Merce Poindexter to go up 32-20 with 8:08 left in the game.
LeFevour completed 33-of-54 passes for 382 yards and rushed 16 times for 136 more yards. Antonio Brown caught 15 passes for 174 yards for the Chippewas.
Jacquemain was 23-for-38 for 210 yards. Jabari Arthur rushed for 111 yards on 8 carries for the Zips.
