HOUSTON (AP) -Anthony Alridge and Terrance Ganaway ran for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns each to lead Houston past Texas Southern 59-6 Saturday.

The Cougars (8-4) closed the regular season with a nonconference win but lost out on a chance for the Conference USA West Division title when Tulsa beat Rice 48-43 Saturday in Houston. Texas Southern (0-11) completed a winless season.

Alridge had 157 yards to put him over 1,500 for the season. Ganaway had 122 yards.

Houston's Case Keenum was 8-of-9 passing for 121 yards and a touchdown and had a 1-yard scoring run before he was replaced by Blake Joseph, who completed 11 of 14 for 169 yards.

Alridge's 35-yard scoring run midway through the second quarter put Houston ahead 47-0. Ganaway's 6-yard run in the third quarter made it 53-0, and Mamoon Barbandi returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown and a 59-0 lead early in the fourth.

Texas Southern avoided a shutout on Cornelius Harmon's 49-yard scoring pass to William Osborne.

Donnie Avery had six catches for 143 yards and a touchdown for Houston.
