ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The Denver Broncos signed unrestricted free agent center Casey Wiegmann to a two-year deal even though it appears he will enter camp as a backup to Tom Nalen.

The Broncos also announced the re-signing of fullback Cecil Sapp.

Wiegmann is a 13th-year pro who started in Kansas City for the last seven seasons. He's also played for the Jets, Bears and Colts, who signed him as a college free agent from the University of Iowa in 1996.

Wiegmann, who signed a two-year deal, has started all 16 games each of the last six seasons and owns a 111-game starting streak in the regular season, third-longest among active NFL linemen. But he'll enter training camp behind Nalen, who is returning from a torn biceps that cut short his 2007 season.

Nalen is the senior member of the team, and the only one who played on the Super Bowl champions of the late 1990s now that kicker Jason Elam has bolted for Atlanta after a 15-year stint in Denver.

Sapp agreed to a one-year, $645,000 deal on Thursday that included a $40,000 signing bonus. That is a big cut from the $1.3 million he made last season as a restricted free agent but does represent the going rate for many veteran fullbacks.

Sapp is a sixth-year pro from Colorado State who has spent his entire career with the Broncos after signing with them as a college free agent in 2003. He started a career-high eight times last season and scored the first three touchdowns of his career in 2007.
