Brandon Short
Short was signed by the New York Giants on Wednesday after playing the last two seasons with Carolina. The 28-year-old linebacker was a fourth-round draft pick by the Giants in 2000 and spent his first four seasons with New York. Short had 41 tackles and started 15 of 16 games for the Panthers last season.

Analysis: Short has 229 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks in 91 career games. His best season was in 2002 when he tallied 62 tackles and three sacks for the Giants.
