Chris Simms
Simms signed a one-year contract to return to the Buccaneers. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. He was two days away from becoming an unrestricted free agent.

Analysis: Simms started 10 games in the 2005 season after starting quarterback Brian Griese suffered a season-ending knee injury. Simms completed 191-of-313 passes for 61.0 percent, 2,035 yards, and 10 touchdowns, while throwing seven interceptions. The Texas product also helped the team make the playoffs for the first time in three years.
