ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -Minnesota Wild coach Jacques Lemaire said Thursday that right wing Mark Parrish likely will have to sit out Game 2 against Colorado because of a head injury.
Parrish was injured in the second period of the Wild's Game 1 loss on Wednesday night after colliding with Avalanche defenseman Ruslan Salei and hitting the boards. Parrish was taken to a local hospital for tests and was told not to speak to the media on Thursday.
``I don't think he will play (Friday),'' Lemaire said.
The coach said Salei's hit on Parrish was clean, but he did wonder if it should have been a penalty because the puck was in the air as it sailed by Parrish and not on the ice.
``You play the puck at 50 miles an hour and that height, I don't know that somebody can play that,'' Lemaire said. ``That's all. But the hit was clean.''
The injuries are starting to pile up for the Wild. Defenseman Nick Schultz had a surprise appendectomy just before the playoffs started and defenseman Martin Skoula has a sore left leg and was listed as ``possible'' for Game 2 on Friday night.
