NEWS: The Devils re-signed Gomez to a $5 million, one-year contract on Thursday, two days after he was awarded $5 million by an arbitrator. The team has not yet announced the signing, but details of the contract were confirmed to The Associated Press by a person familiar with the negotiations. The Devils' forward made $2.2 million last season while posting career highs in goals (33) and points (84).
NOTES: Gomez has spent all six of his NHL seasons with the Devils, recording 103 goals and 287 assists in 476 games.

NEWS: Gomez was awarded a $5 million, one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils by an arbitrator Tuesday. The Devils' forward made $2.204 million last season while posting career highs in goals (33) and points (84). New Jersey has 48 hours to accept the ruling and sign Gomez or let him become an unrestricted free agent. "He's been an integral part of our success, no question," Devils president and general manager Lou Lamoriello said Tuesday night.
NOTES: Gomez has spent all six of his NHL seasons with the Devils, recording 103 goals and 287 assists in 476 games.
Jordan Parise (Goaltender) 7/14/2006
NEWS: Jordan Parise joined his brother, Zach, as a member of the Devils on Friday, signing his first professional contract with New Jersey. Terms weren't immediately available. The older brother of forward Zach Parise, the goaltender played the last three seasons for the University of North Dakota, posting a 55-20-7 record with 10 shutouts. He had a 2.14 goals-against average.
NOTES: Jordan Parise reached career highs in games played (34), wins (24), and shutouts (6) this past season. He completed his collegiate playing career as North Dakota's all-time leader in goals-against average, while finishing second in victories and shutouts.
Colin White (Defense) 7/10/2006
NEWS: New Jersey re-signed White to a multiyear contract on Monday. The 28-year-old defenseman had three goals and 14 assists in 73 games last season and is one of the core players for the Devils. He's spent all six years of his career in New Jersey and has 15 goals and 56 points in 396 games.
Michael Rupp (Right Wing) 7/10/2006
NEWS: Rupp signed with New Jersey on Monday, reuniting the right wing with the team he started his career with. Rupp had four goals and two assists in 40 games last season with Columbus and Phoenix. He spent parts of 2002-03 and 2003-04 with the Devils before being traded to the Coyotes in March 2004.
NOTES: Rupp scored the game-winning goal in New Jersey's 3-0 win over Anaheim in Game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup finals.
Patrik Elias (Center) 7/2/2006
NEWS: Elias agreed to a reported seven-year, $42 million deal Sunday to remain with the Devils. "We're delighted Patrik has made the decision to stay in New Jersey," Devils president and general manager Lou Lamoriello said late Sunday afternoon.
NOTES: The 30-year-old Elias, who had 16 goals and 29 assists in 38 games this past season, was believed to be looking for a contract that would pay him this year's league maximum of $8.8 million a season, or 20 percent of the $44 million salary cap.
Jamie Langenbrunner (Right Wing) 7/1/2006
NEWS: The Devils re-signed Langenbrunner on Saturday to a five-year contract worth about $14 million. "There is no question he is one of our core players," general manager Lou Lamoriello said. "He is the prototypical Devils player. He works hard. He is a team player. He is a quality individual."
NOTES: Langenbrunner was third on the team in scoring last season, posting 19 goals and 34 assists in 80 games. He added three goals and 10 assists in nine playoff games. New Jersey swept the New York Rangers before losing in five games to the eventual champion Carolina Hurricanes in the second round.
Colin White (Defense) 5/10/2006
NEWS: White will return to the Devils' lineup for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday after missing five games with a strained groin. The defenseman last played in a 6-1 win for the Devils in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the New York Rangers.

NEWS: Bothered by a groin injury, White missed his fifth straight game for the New Jersey Devils Monday, a 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Devils' defenseman has been limited to 4:54 of ice time during the playoffs. He appeared in New Jersey's opening-round sweep of the New York Rangers.
Martin Brodeur (Goaltender) 4/29/2006
NEWS: Brodeur made 31 saves in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Rangers, breaking Patrick Roy's NHL record by playing in his 137th consecutive postseason game. New Jersey's veteran goaltender recorded his 88th playoff win to move into a third-place tie with Billy Smith and Ed Belfour on the NHL career list.
NOTES: Brodeur was 43-23 during the regular season with a 2.57 goals-against average.
Martin Brodeur (Goaltender) 4/27/2006
NEWS: Brodeur collected his 21st career playoff shutout in the Devils' 3-0 win over the New York Rangers on Wednesday in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. New Jersey has a commanding 3-0 lead over its Atlantic Division rival.
NOTES: Performing in the spotlight is nothing new for Brodeur, who improved to 87-60 with a 1.84 goals-against average in his playoff career. The 33-year-old New Jersey netminder has a 0.67 GAA in the series.
John Madden (Center) 4/25/2006
NEWS: Madden tied an NHL playoff record with two man-down goals as part of his first postseason hat trick in New Jersey's 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers in Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs on Monday.
NOTES: The seven-year veteran only has two career three-goal games, and had not had a hat trick since Feb. 5, 2003. Madden has 16 goals and 17 assists in 82 career playoff games. He had gone 17 playoff games without a goal before Monday.
Brian Gionta (Right Wing) 4/19/2006
NEWS: Gionta scored his 47th and 48th goals to help New Jersey win its 11th straight, 4-3 over Montreal, and clinch an improbable Atlantic Division title. The right wing extended his point streak to 15 games, tying the club record set by teammate Patrik Elias during the 1999-2000 season, and broke a tie with Pat Verbeek for the single-season team goal-scoring record.
NOTES: Gionta has 12 goals and 13 assists during his point streak and finished the season with 48 goals and 41 assists, both career highs for the fourth-year forward.

NEWS: Gionta extended his point streak to 14 games with a goal and an assist as the Devils won their 10th straight, 5-1 over Philadelphia on Sunday. The goal was Gionta's 46th, tying the team single-season record set by Pat Verbeek in 1987-88. Gionta's point streak is one short of the club record set by teammate Patrik Elias in 1999-2000.
NOTES: Gionta has 10 goals and 12 assists during the streak and has set career highs with 46 goals and 40 assists in his fourth season.

NEWS: Elias scored two goals Sunday to help New Jersey beat Philadelphia 5-1 for its 10th straight win. The first goal was Elias' 500th career point. The left wing has missed 43 games this season because of bruised ribs and Hepatitis A but has managed to contribute 15 goals and 28 assists in 37 games.

NEWS: Gionta had three assists to help the Devils beat Philadelphia 4-1 Thursday night for their ninth straight win.
NOTES: Gionta has a 13-game point streak with nine goals and 11 assists in that span. The four-year veteran has season highs of 45 goals and 39 assists in 80 games this season, and is one goal shy of Pat Verbeek's franchise single-season goal-scoring record, set in 1987-88.

He is one goal shy of Pat Verbeek's franchise single-season scoring record, set in 1987-88.

NEWS: Gionta scored his 44th goal of the season and extended his point streak to 11 games in the Devils' 3-2 win over the New York Rangers on Sunday. The victory was New Jersey's seventh in a row and moved it to within two points of the second-place Philadelphia Flyers in the Atlantic Division.
NOTES: Gionta is two goals shy of Pat Verbeek's franchise record set in 1987-88 and has eight tallies and seven assists during the point streak. For the season, the speedy winger has a team-high 79 points in 78 games.
Patrik Elias (Center) 4/6/2006
NEWS: Elias had three goals and two assists in the Devils' 6-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday after notching just nine points in his last 14 games. "You obviously want to do well," Elias said. "You want to score and you want to help the team. The main thing is to stay positive. It's hard. It's not easy."
NOTES: Elias, during an arduous season in which he has missed four games with bruised ribs and the first 39 contests after contracting Hepatitis A, has rebounded nicely to score 13 goals and add 22 assists in 32 games for the Devils. The 29-year-old center has 220 goals and 494 points in 590 career games.
Martin Brodeur (Goaltender) 4/2/2006
NEWS: Brodeur passed Jacques Plante to move into fourth place on the NHL's career victories list with 438 by stopping 33 shots in a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia on Saturday. The Devils' netminder tied Plante on Thursday. The victory also gave Brodeur his ninth straight season of at least 35 victories. No other goalie in history has had more than three straight 35-plus win seasons.
NOTES: The 33-year-old improved to 35-23-7 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.
