Peter Schaefer (Left Wing) 7/28/2006
NEWS: Schaefer agreed to a four-year, $8.4 million contract with the Ottawa Senators. The veteran left wing will earn $1.7 million next season and $2.1, $2.3 million and $2.3 million in the remaining seasons of the new deal. Chris Neil (Right Wing) 7/26/2006
NEWS: Neil agreed to a three-year, $3.3 million contract with the Senators on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration. The Senators' right wing earned $585, 000 last season while posting career highs in goals (16), assists (17) and points (33). He also tallied 204 penalty minutes, becoming the Senators' all-time leader in that category.
NOTES: Neil has 40 goals, 76 points and 776 penalty minutes in 301 career games, all with the Senators.

NOTES: Kopecky played in his first and only NHL game last season on Feb. 28. A native of Slovakia, Kopecky had career highs in goals (32), points (72) and games (77) last season for the Griffins.
Ray Emery (Goaltender) 7/7/2006
NEWS: Ottawa and Emery agreed to a one-year, $925,000 contract on Thursday. The 23-year-old goalie took over for Dominik Hasek in the regular season and finished 23-11-4 with a 2.82 goals-against average. He was 5-5 in the postseason as the Senators were eliminated in the second round by Buffalo.
NOTES: Emery will compete with Martin Gerber for the No. 1 job after Gerber signed with Ottawa last week. Re-signing Emery likely means Hasek will not return to the Senators.
Jason Spezza (Center) 7/3/2006
NEWS: Spezza re-signed with the Senators on Monday, agreeing to a two-year contract. The 23-year-old center had 19 goals and 71 assists for a career-high 90 points last season, ranking third on the Senators. Spezza, a restricted free agent, has spent all three seasons with Ottawa since they drafted him second overall in the 2001 draft.
NOTES: Spezza has 48 goals and 118 assists in 179 career games.
Wade Redden (Defense) 6/29/2006

Martin Gerber (Goaltender) 5/27/2006
NEWS: Gerber made 22 saves and earned his first career playoff shutout in a 4-0 Hurricanes' win over the Buffalo Sabres in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday. It was Gerber's first start for the Hurricanes since Game 2 of the opening round against the Montreal Canadiens. The goaltender lost the starting job to Cam Ward after allowing nine goals on 34 shots in less than four periods of two games.
NOTES: Gerber is 1-1 with a 3.00 GAA with one shutout and an .873 save percentage in five playoff games for the Hurricanes this season. He recorded a career-best 38-14 record with a 2.78 GAA, .906 save percentage and three shutouts in 60 games for Carolina in the regular season.
Wade Redden (Defense) 4/24/2006
NEWS: Redden will return to Ottawa's lineup for Tuesday's matchup against Tampa Bay after missing Sunday's game because of his mother's death. The Senators' defenseman missed seven games late in the season to be with his family as his mother fought cancer. Redden will be a big boost to the Senators as they try to avoid another early exit from the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.
NOTES: Redden had 10 goals and 40 assists during 65 regular-season games.
Dany Heatley (Left Wing) 4/19/2006
NEWS: Heatley scored his 50th goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Rangers, extending his Ottawa single-season scoring record. The Senators' previous high was 45 goals scored by Marian Hossa in 2002-03.
NOTES: Heatley finished the regular season with 50 goals and 53 assists for 103 points, which were all career highs.
Dany Heatley (Left Wing) 4/4/2006
NEWS: Heatley scored twice to tie the team record for goals in a season in Ottawa's 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers on Monday. The 25-year-old left wing has 45 tallies in 2005-06, the same number Marian Hossa put up in 2002-03. Hossa was the key player the Senators traded to the Thrashers to acquire Heatley in the offseason.
NOTES: Heatley's 93 points this season are tops on the team and four more than the career-high 89 he garnered in 2002-03. In his last 12 games, the Ottawa winger has nine goals and seven assists.
Ray Emery (Goaltender) 3/31/2006
NEWS: Emery made 24 saves in the short-handed Senators' 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Thursday. Ottawa played without top defensemen Zdeno Chara (hand), Chris Phillips (knee) and Wade Redden (family matter).
NOTES: Dominik who? Emery continues to shine in the absence of goaltender Dominik Hasek, improving to 13-2-2 with a 2.09 goals-against average in his last 17 starts. Overall, the 23-year-old is 21-6-3 with a 2.58 GAA in 2005-06.

NOTES: Phillips has one goal and 18 assists in 69 games this season. His assist total and 90 penalty minutes are career highs.
Jason Spezza (Center) 3/23/2006
NEWS: Spezza expects to return Friday when his Senators visit the Sabres. He missed Tuesday's game because of a sore hip.
NOTES: Spezza has 18 goals and 54 assists in 54 games this season.
Ray Emery (Goaltender) 3/7/2006
NEWS: Emery, playing in place of the injured Dominik Hasek, stopped 31 shots to blank the Tampa Bay Lightning Monday night. The Senators came away with a 4-0 victory, their fifth straight win. Ottawa coach Bryan Murray noted that Emery is playing well and with confidence.
NOTES: Emery improved to 13-4-1 for the season. He has a 2.76 goals-against average and .902 save percentage.
Martin Gerber (Goaltender) 3/7/2006
NEWS: Gerber earned his 30th win of the season, making 37 saves in the Hurricanes' 2-1 win over the New York Rangers on Monday. This is the first time Gerber has reached the 30-win mark after totaling 17 wins in his two previous NHL seasons combined with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
NOTES: Gerber has posted a 30-9-2 record with a 2.67 goals-against average, three shutouts and a .910 save percentage in 42 games for the Hurricanes this season. He is tied for second in the league in wins with New Jersey's Martin Brodeur, and they are one behind Dallas' Marty Turco and Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff.
Ray Emery (Goaltender) 2/22/2006
NEWS: Emery is expected to become the Senators' starting goaltender in the absence of Dominik Hasek, who is out with a groin injury. There is no timetable for Hasek's return, though he is expected to be back in time for the playoffs.

NOTES: Heatley's tally was his first point in five games after he totaled 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in his previous nine contests. For the season, the 25-year-old Ottawa left wing has 71 points in 56 games. His career-high point total came in 2002-03 when he had 89 points (41 goals, 48 assists) in 77 games for the Atlanta Thrashers.
Joe Corvo (Defense) 2/12/2006
NEWS: Corvo scored a power-play goal 40 seconds into overtime in the Kings' 5-4 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. He beat goaltender Craig Anderson with a 25-foot slap shot high to the glove side while Matthew Barnaby was serving a delay-of-game penalty for clearing the puck over the glass.
NOTES: Corvo also had an assist and continues to pile on the offensive numbers in his third NHL season. The 28-year-old Los Angeles defenseman, who has 13 goals and 17 helpers in 59 games, entered the campaign with just 37 points (13 goals, 24 assists) in 122 career contests.
