Jason Chimera (Left Wing) 7/22/2006
NEWS: The Blue Jackets re-signed Chimera to a two-year contract Saturday. He came to Columbus as part of a five-player trade with Phoenix in early October.
NOTES: Chimera had a career-high 17 goals and 13 assists in 80 games with the Blue Jackets last season. He has appeared in 210 NHL games, with 36 goals and 30 assists.
Pascal Leclaire (Goaltender) 7/18/2006
NEWS: Leclaire signed a two-year contract on Tuesday to remain with the Columbus Blue Jackets through 2008. The 23-year-old goaltender went 11-15-3 with a 3.23 goals-against average in 33 games last season while sharing the starting job with Marc Denis, who was traded to Tampa Bay on June 30.
NOTES: Leclaire was Columbus' top draft pick in 2001 and has gone 11-17-3 with a 3.25 GAA in 35 career NHL games.
Ron Hainsey (Defense) 7/11/2006
NEWS: Columbus re-signed Hainsey to a two-year deal on Tuesday. The 25-year-old defenseman was claimed off waivers from Montreal in November and finished with two goals and 15 assists in 55 games this season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ty Conklin (Goaltender) 7/6/2006
NEWS: Conklin signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday after spending the last three seasons with Edmonton. The 30-year-old goaltender went 8-5-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average in 18 games for the Oilers last season.
NOTES: Conklin is 27-19-5 with a 2.49 GAA in 60 career games. He will serve as a backup to Blue Jackets starter Pascal LeClaire.
Tomas Kloucek (Defense) 7/6/2006
NEWS: Kloucek signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. The 26-year-old defenseman played 33 games for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL last season and appeared in one game for the Atlanta Thrashers.
NOTES: Kloucek has two goals and eight assists in 141 career NHL games spanning five seasons with the New York Rangers, Nashville and Atlanta.
Fredrik Modin (Left Wing) 6/30/2006
NEWS: Modin and goalie Fredrik Norrena were dealt to Columbus on Friday in exchange for goaltender Marc Denis. Modin, a left wing, had 31 goals and 23 assists last season for Tampa Bay and was a key player when the Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2003-04.
NOTES: Modin, who also was a member of Sweden's gold medal-winning team at the Olympics, has 183 goals and 179 assists in 662 career NHL games.
Jody Shelley (Left Wing) 6/15/2006
NEWS: Shelley signed a two-year contract with the Blue Jackets on Thursday. The enforcer scored three goals with seven assists and 163 penalty minutes in 80 games for the Blue Jackets during the 2005-06 season.
NOTES: Shelley has 10 goals and 17 assists with 856 penalty minutes in 277 career games, since joining the Blue Jackets as a free agent in February 2001.
David Vyborny (Right Wing) 5/7/2006
NEWS: Vyborny signed a two-year contract on Sunday to remain in Columbus. The 31-year-old forward is the Blue Jackets' all-time scoring leader, with 90 goals and 137 assists in five years with the franchise. He is one of only three players remaining from Columbus' inaugural season in 2000-01. Vyborny tied his career-high with 22 goals this season and added 43 assists.
Rostislav Klesla (Defense) 4/19/2006
NEWS: Klesla signed a four-year contract with Columbus after setting career highs with six goals and 13 assists this season with the Blue Jackets. The franchise's first draft pick in 2000, the 24-year-old defenseman was a restricted free agent, but is considered a cornerstone of an improving Columbus team.
Sergei Fedorov (Center) 4/19/2006
NEWS: Fedorov scored his 14th career overtime goal in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Stars, tying Mats Sundin for the NHL record. The Blue Jackets' center finished the season with 12 goals and 32 assists.
Rick Nash (Left Wing) 4/16/2006
NEWS: Nash scored his 30th goal of the season in Columbus' 5-2 win over Chicago on Saturday night, becoming the first player since Mario Lemieux in 2000-01 to score 30 goals in a season while playing fewer than 53 games. Nash also notched an assist, his 22nd of the season, tying his career high.
NOTES: Nash missed 26 games with injuries this season, but is still the Blue Jackets' third-leading scorer with 52 points. He has scored 88 goals in only 206 career games.
Rick Nash (Left Wing) 4/8/2006
NEWS: Nash recorded his first career hat trick in Columbus' 6-5 shootout loss to Detroit on Friday.
NOTES: The third-year veteran has 29 goals this season, and has eight goals and two assists in his last six games. Nash has played in 48 games this season after missing 28 contests due to knee and ankle sprains, but still is third on the Blue Jackets with 49 points.
Nikolai Zherdev (Right Wing) 4/3/2006
NEWS: Zherdev sprained his knee in Columbus' 5-2 win over Chicago on Saturday and will be out indefinitely. The right wing leads the Blue Jackets in goals (27) and is second on the team in points (54).
NOTES: Columbus recalled Dan Fritsche from Syracuse of the AHL to take Zherdev's place.
Dan Fritsche (Center) 4/3/2006
NEWS: Columbus recalled Fritsche from Syracuse of the AHL on Monday to take the place of injured forward Nikolai Zherdev. The second-year center has split his time between the Blue Jackets and the Crunch, with four goals and five assists in 51 games with Columbus. He had three goals and four assists in 18 games with Syracuse.
Rick Nash (Left Wing) 3/29/2006
NEWS: Nash scored twice in the Blue Jackets' 4-1 win over San Jose on Tuesday. The victory was Columbus' 29th of the season, tying a franchise record set in 2002-03.
NOTES: Nash has 24 goals and 19 assists in 44 games during a season in which he's missed 28 contests due to knee and ankle sprains. Still, the Columbus winger is third on the team in points and just 14 shy of the career-high 57 he totaled in 2003-04. He has seven goals and six assists in his last 10 games.
Sergei Fedorov (Center) 3/19/2006
NEWS: Fedorov is questionable for Columbus' home game Sunday against the Mighty Ducks because of back spasms.
NOTES: Fedorov has seven goals and 26 assists in 53 games for Columbus this season.
Bryan Berard (Defense) 3/17/2006
NEWS: Berard reportedly will undergo surgery to repair the bulging disc in his back at the end of March. The Columbus Blue Jackets' defenseman is officially out for the season.
NOTES: Berard has 12 goals and 32 points this season but hasn't played since a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 27.
Jan Hrdina (Center) 3/15/2006
NEWS: Hrdina will miss the Blue Jackets' game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday due to a broken toe. The Blue Jackets have recalled forward Ben Simon from Syracuse of the AHL.
NOTES: Hrdina has earned 19 assists and 28 points in 59 games for the Blue Jackets this season.
Bryan Berard (Defense) 3/13/2006
NEWS: Berard has been told by doctors that he does not need surgery for his lower back injury, but the defenseman will miss his 14th consecutive game for the Blue Jackets on Monday against the St. Louis Blues. He has not played since a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 27. There is no timetable for his return and he is still listed as day-to-day.
NOTES: Berard has scored 12 goals and 20 assists in 44 games for the Blue Jackets this season.

NEWS: Berard will be out for at least two weeks for the Blue Jackets with a lower back injury. He has not played since a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 27.
NOTES: Berard has scored 20 assists and 32 points for the Blue Jackets this season.
