NEWS: Lindros signed a one-year bargain deal with the Stars on Monday. The 33-year-old Lindros is trying to bounce back from another injury-marred season by filling a need on a team that's trying to bounce back after a strong regular season led to a first-round playoff exit.
NOTES: Lindros played only 33 games last year because of a wrist problem. He's also had eight concussions, missing the entire 2000-01 season because of a hard hit by New Jersey's Scott Stevens during a playoff game the season before. In 711 NHL games, Lindros tallied 367 goals and 472 assists.

NEWS: Lindros plans to sign a one-year deal with the Dallas Stars, a team official told The Associated Press on Sunday on condition of anonymity because the contract wasn't finished yet. An announcement was expected to be made later Sunday or Monday. Lindros had 11 goals and 11 assists last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, his hometown team, but was limited to 33 games after injuring his wrist against the Stars.

NEWS: Dallas re-signed Ott to a two-year contract on Monday, after the 23-year-old center set career-highs with five goals and 17 assists last season. He was second on the Stars with 178 penalty minutes and was the only Dallas player to appear in all 82 regular-season games.
NOTES: Dallas' first-round pick in 2000, Ott has 41 points and 361 penalty minutes in 181 career games.
Jeff Halpern (Center) 7/5/2006
NEWS: Halpern signed a four-year deal with the Dallas Stars on Wednesday after spending all six career seasons with Washington. The 30-year-old center had 11 goals and 33 assists during the 2005-06 season and served as Washington's captain. "Jeff is a versatile center who adds solid leadership and experience to our roster," Stars general manager Doug Armstrong said.
NOTES: Halpern has 87 goals and 127 assists in 438 career games.
Matthew Barnaby (Right Wing) 7/5/2006
NEWS: Barnaby agreed to a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars on Wednesday after spending last season with Chicago. The 33-year-old right wing played all 82 games for the Blackhawks during the 2005-06 season, leading the team with 178 penalty minutes and recording eight goals and 20 assists.
NOTES: Barnaby has 112 goals, 181 assists and 2,435 penalty minutes in 795 career games spanning 13 seasons and six different teams.
Darryl Sydor (Defense) 7/2/2006
NEWS: Sydor returned to the Dallas Stars on Sunday when he was acquired from the Lightning for a draft pick. Sydor came back to Dallas on the same day the Stars lost free agent center Jason Arnott, who signed a five-year contract with Nashville. Arnott had a career-high 76 points last season.
NOTES: Tampa Bay will receive a fourth-round pick in the 2008 draft for Sydor, who played in 575 games with Dallas from 1995-2003 when he had 62 goals and 238 assists -- both third in franchise history for defensemen. He was part of the Stanley Cup champion team in 1999 and was an All-Star in 1998 and 1999. Sydor also was on Tampa Bay's Stanley Cup champion team in 2004. He has 89 goals and 361 assists in 1,023 career games.
Jon Klemm (Defense) 6/28/2006
NEWS: The Stars exercised the club option on Klemm's contract for next season Wednesday. The 36-year-old defenseman had four goals and seven assists with 60 penalty minutes in 76 games for Dallas last season. He led the team with 161 blocked shots.
NOTES: Klemm has played 713 games during his NHL career, including stops in Quebec, Colorado and Chicago. He has 41 goals, 98 assists and 402 penalty minutes.
Patrik Stefan (Center) 6/25/2006
NEWS: Atlanta traded Stefan to Dallas on Saturday along with a first-round draft pick and defenseman Jaroslav Modry for center Niko Kapanen. Stefan was the first overall pick by the Thrashers in 1999 and the last remaining member of the original expansion team. Stefan had 10 goals and 14 assists in 64 games during the 2005-06 season.
NOTES: Stefan has 59 goals and 118 assists in 414 career games.
Jaroslav Modry (Defense) 6/25/2006
NEWS: Atlanta traded Modry to Dallas on Saturday along with center Patrik Stefan and a first-round draft pick for center Niko Kapanen. Modry recorded 38 points in the 2005-06 season, including seven goals and 31 assists, to lead the Thrashers' defensemen.
NOTES: Modry has 47 goals and 176 assists in 569 career games.
Mike Modano (Center) 5/1/2006
NEWS: Modano took a hard hit to his head, then had to be helped off the ice midway through the third period of the Stars' 3-2 overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series Sunday. Modano returned for the overtime period and later said it was a clean hit.
NOTES: On the play he was injured, the Dallas captain had just given up the puck when Colorado defenseman Brett Clark charged into him. Clark's shoulder appeared to strike Modano around his face, spinning him around before he dropped to the ice. Modano will have plenty of time to recover during the offseason since his team was eliminated from the playoffs in the loss.
Mike Modano (Center) 4/7/2006
NEWS: Modano left Thursday's game against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the second period with an apparent knee injury when he got tangled up with Anaheim forward Jonathan Hedstrom. The Dallas Morning News later reported that the injury isn't serious and Modano might skate at Friday's practice.
NOTES: The Stars are holding their breath on this one and can ill afford to lose Modano at this point in the season. The team's captain and leading scorer has 27 goals and 47 assists in 75 games in 2005-06.
Mike Modano (Center) 3/27/2006
NEWS: Modano scored the 135th power-play goal of his career in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Flames, breaking the Stars' franchise record. The Dallas center scored his first extra-man goal in 1988 when the team was located in Minnesota and 17 years later, he passed Brian Bellows on the career list. It was Modano's 12th power-play goal this season.
NOTES: In 71 games this season, Modano has 27 goals and 43 assists.
Marty Turco (Goaltender) 3/27/2006
NEWS: Turco made 17 saves in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Flames to earn his 38th victory this season and set the Stars' single-season franchise record. The Dallas goaltender previously tallied 37 wins in 2003-04, sharing the mark with Ed Belfour (1997-98).
NOTES: Turco has won nine of his last 11 starts and boasts a 38-17-3 record. He has a 2.52 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage this season, however, both career-worst numbers.
Jussi Jokinen (Left Wing) 3/19/2006
NEWS: A personal streak ended and a team streak continued on Saturday. Jokinen missed a shootout attempt for the first time in 10 tries. The Stars remained perfect in 10 shootouts.
Eric Lindros (Center) 3/5/2006
NEWS: Lindros will undergo surgery after tearing a ligament in his right wrist Saturday against the Ottawa Senators. The 33-year-old Toronto center hurt the wrist earlier this season and recently returned after missing 26 games. He aggravated the injury when he was hit by a slap shot in the second period versus the Senators.
NOTES: Lindros has 11 goals and 11 assists in 32 games during a season that has been a huge disappointment for the 12-year veteran. Plagued by concussions throughout his career, Lindros' latest injury could mean the end of his days with the Maple Leafs. He signed a one-year, $1.55 million contract last summer with the club.
Philippe Boucher (Defense) 3/4/2006
NEWS: Boucher signed a three-year contract extension with the Stars on Friday. The 32-year-old veteran defenseman, whose contract was to expire in June, has a career-high 12 goals and 31 points in 44 games this season. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Janne Niinimaa (Defense) 2/6/2006
NEWS: Niinimaa was activated from injured reserve by the Stars on Monday. The 30-year-old Dallas defenseman missed the last seven games with a sore ankle.
NOTES: Niinimaa has played in a total of 46 games this season, posting one goal and 10 assists with 70 penalty minutes. The Stars acquired Niinimaa, a two-time member of the Finnish Olympic team and a 2001 NHL All-Star, from the New York Islanders on Jan. 10 for defenseman John Erskine and a swap of draft picks.
Janne Niinimaa (Defense) 1/26/2006
NEWS: Dallas placed Niinimaa on the injured reserve list Wednesday, retroactive to Friday. The newly acquired defenseman has a sore ankle and has missed the Stars' last two games and will miss their game with Colorado on Thursday night. Dallas acquired Niinimaa from the New York Islanders on Jan. 10.
NOTES: Niinimaa had just one assist in five games for the Stars. The 30-year-old has one goal and 10 assists in 46 games for the Islanders and Stars this season.
Marty Turco (Goaltender) 1/24/2006
NEWS: Turco made 17 saves in the Stars' 4-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday. The 30-year-old goaltender improved to 23-13-2 with a 2.58 goals-against average this season.
NOTES: This was good news for Turco, who had been pulled in three of his previous six games and had allowed eight goals in the last 22 shots he faced. His .895 save percentage is the worst of his five-year career.
Marty Turco (Goaltender) 1/21/2006
NEWS: After missing Wednesday's game with a groin injury, Turco returned for a very abbreviated stint in the Stars' 6-3 loss to the Lightning on Friday night. Turco allowed four goals on seven shots and was replaced by Johan Hedberg at 12:35 of the first period.
NOTES: This was the third time in his last six starts that Turco has been pulled, and he is 2-2-0 with a 4.05 goals-against average and .838 save percentage during that span. The five-year veteran is 22-13 with a 2.62 GAA and .894 save percentage in 39 games this season.
