Brendan Witt
Witt agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the New York Islanders on Monday. The 31-year-old defenseman spent most of his first 10 seasons with Washington before being sent to Nashville before the March trade deadline. Witt recorded one goal and 13 assists in 75 total games during the 2005-06 season. "We were looking for competitors, and today we signed one of the fiercest in the league in Brendan Witt," Islanders general manager Neil Smith said.
