Brent Sopel
Sopel and New York Islanders teammate Mark Parrish were traded to Los Angeles on Wednesday for two prospects. Sopel sat out Tuesday's game with a bruised knee, but it was not expected to be a serious injury. In his first season in New York, the defenseman had two goals and 25 assists in 57 games.

Analysis: Sopel spent the first six seasons of his career with Vancouver, recording career highs of 10 goals and 32 assists in 2003-04.
