Frantisek Kaberle
The Raleigh News and Observer reported that Kaberle is still being bothered by a sore shoulder and may not be ready for the start of the season. The Hurricanes begin their defense of the Stanley Cup on Oct. 4 at home against the Buffalo Sabres.

Analysis: Kaberle scored six goals with 38 assists for 44 points in 77 games for the Hurricanes last season -- his first with the team. The defenseman had four goals and nine assists in 25 playoffs games to help the team to its first Stanley Cup title.
