Cam Ward
Ward won the Conn Smythe Trophy on Monday as the most valuable player in the postseason after leading Carolina to its first Stanley Cup. The 22-year-old goaltender made 22 saves in Game 7 on Monday as the Hurricanes won 3-1 over Edmonton. Ward began the playoffs as a backup to Martin Gerber, but finished with more playoff wins (15) than regular season victories (14) and boasted a 2.14 goals-against average. He is just the fourth rookie to win the Conn Smythe trophy.
