Donald Brashear
The Capitals signed free-agent enforcer Donald Brashear on Friday, adding some protection for star Alexander Ovechkin. The 34-year-old left wing played for the Philadelphia Flyers the last four seasons, recording 648 penalty minutes, 22 goals and 44 assists. He led the Flyers in penalty minutes each of the last three seasons, including 166 in 2005-06.
