LOS ANGELES (AP) -Southern California guard Brynn Cameron will miss the upcoming women's basketball season for personal reasons.
Cameron, a 20-year-old junior, will redshirt, giving her another year of eligibility. She averaged 9.8 points as a freshman starter, but played only 13 games last season before being sidelined by a second operation on her hip.
USC women's basketball spokeswoman Darcy Couch wouldn't disclose the reason Cameron will sit out, saying, ``It's a private matter.''
Guard Camille LeNoir also will be out until mid-January because of a hip injury, while incoming freshman Jacki Gemelos will redshirt while recovering from a knee injury.
LeNoir averaged 12.7 points and 4.1 assists last season.
``We were counting on all three of them to be significant components of our team,'' USC coach Mark Trakh said.
USC was 19-12 last season and lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
