BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -Leonard Drake resigned Tuesday as coach of Lamar's women's basketball team, three days after suffering severe chest pains following a game.
Third-year assistant coach Janet Eaton has been named interim coach, athletic director Billy Tubbs said.
The 52-year-old Drake said he stepped down because ``the stress of the season has my family extremely concerned.''
Lamar is 11-14 overall and 6-6 in the Southland Conference. Drake was 37-94 in his fourth season at Lamar.
