CINCINNATI (AP) -Laurie Pirtle is retiring after 21 years as Cincinnati's women's basketball coach with over 300 career victories and six NCAA tournament appearances.

The Bearcats went 15-14 and 6-10 in the Big East this season to give Pirtle a career record of 310-301.

She led the Bearcats to the regular season Conference USA title in 1999, and the conference tournament title in 2002.

Pirtle coached Capital University to an 83-16 record and Ohio Conference championships in 1985 and 1986 before taking over at Cincinnati in 1987.
