MALIBU, Calif. (AP) -Pepperdine women's basketball coach Julie Rousseau signed a five-year contract extension Tuesday.

``Julie has constantly demonstrated her commitment to development and growth of her players as athletes, students and young women,'' athletic director John Watson said in a statement.

In three seasons as coach, Rousseau has led the Waves to an overall record of 40-51.

``I am ecstatic about continuing to be a part of the Pepperdine University family and look forward to building a program whose student-athletes represent great character, scholarship and high performance on the court,'' she said.
