LOS ANGELES (AP) -Loree Moore had 20 points and a career-high six steals to lead the New York Liberty to an 80-68 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night.
Shameka Christon added 13 points and Ashley Battle had 11 points for the Liberty (8-7), who broke a three-game losing streak.
Marta Fernandez had 17 points and four assists for the Sparks (7-7), who lost for the fifth time in seven games and shot a season-low 32.9 percent. LaToya Thomas added 12 points and Sidney Spencer had 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Liberty made six of their first seven shots in the second half to build a 50-38 advantage with 4:15 left in the third quarter, and led by as many as 18 points.
New York made five 3-pointers in the first 10:21 to build a 26-12 lead 1:12 into the second quarter. Christon led the spree with eight points.
The Sparks responded with an 18-5 run to make it 31-30 with 47.1 seconds left in the second quarter. But Moore's 3-pointer with 18.8 seconds left and Tiffany Jackson's layup at the buzzer gave New York a 36-30 halftime lead.
