FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -Jacinta Monroe made all nine of her shots and scored 23 points, and No. 19 Florida State spoiled Florida Gulf Coast's Division I debut 93-53 Friday night.

The Seminoles scored the game's first eight points and steadily pulled away, capitalizing on their height advantage against the Eagles, who reached the NCAA Division II title game last season.

Tanae Davis-Cain added 18 points for the Seminoles, who led 46-24 at the half. Delia De La Torre led Florida Gulf Coast with 14 points.

Monroe scored 15 points in the first half on 6-of-6 shooting from the field. She finished 9-of-9, with all of her attempts coming in the lane.

The Seminoles outrebounded Florida Gulf Coast 48-22, including 14 offensive rebounds that Florida State turned into 18 second-chance points. Davis-Cain led all rebounders with nine.

Florida State shot 57 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc (4-for-8). Seminoles wing Antionette Howard chipped in with 17 points and six rebounds.
