SEATTLE (AP) -Washington freshman Katelan Redmon has decided to transfer, after trying to get out of her scholarship a year ago, then leading the Huskies in scoring.

Redmon, who was originally recruited to Washington by former coach June Daugherty, did not inform the school of her future plans.

``I never thought in a million years I would be revealing what I am today,'' Washington coach Tia Jackson said in a release. ``However, Katelan Redmon has opted to forego her time here at Washington. There are several reasons for her decision and as you can imagine this program is incredibly disappointed that she has elected to leave.''

Redmon was a standout on a rebuilding team in Jackson's first year. She averaged 11.8 points per game, was selected to the Pac-10 all-freshman team and set a Washington freshman record by starting all 31 games during the season. She also was second on the team in rebounding.

A year ago, Redmon tried to get out of her commitment to Washington after Daugherty was abruptly fired.
