MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -Delaney Conway scored 19 points and Katia Hadj-Hamou added 17 to help lead Portland State to an 82-69 win over Northern Colorado in the first round of the Big Sky Conference tournament on Thursday night.
Kelli Valentine finished with 16 points, while Claire Faucher scored 14 for the fourth seed Vikings (22-8). Faucher also had 10 rebounds and 10 assists to post her second consecutive triple-double.
The Vikings, who led most of the first half, went into the break ahead 37-26 and scored nine of the first 11 points of the second half. They built a 20-point lead on a jumper by Kelsey Kahle with 4:21 remaining, and the Bears (14-16) couldn't get closer than 13 the rest of the way.
PSU offset a career-high 37 points for the Bears' Danielle Hagen. She was 14-of-24 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line to pass the 1,000-point mark for her career. Courtney Stoermer and Jamie Schroeder added 11 points apiece for the fifth seed Bears.
Portland State will face first seed Montana on Friday night in the second of two semifinal games. Third seed Montana State, an 84-78 winner over Northern Arizona in the opening quarterfinal game Thursday, will face No. 2 Idaho State on Friday in the opening semifinal game.
