WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -Wichita State hired Jody Adams as its women's basketball coach Wednesday, less than a week after she led Murray State to its first NCAA tournament appearance.
She replaces Jane Albright, who was fired after going 48-95 in five seasons.
Adams spent one season at Murray State, leading the Racers to a 24-8 record and a win in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. Murray State lost to Duke 78-57 in the first round.
Adams, a member of Tennessee's 1991 national championship team, is a former associate head coach at Southern Illinois. She also coached at Missouri-Kansas City, Minnesota, Wake Forest and Auburn.
