DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Once top-ranked Duke got started, the Blue Devils were tough to stop.
Monique Currie had 21 points and 15 rebounds to help top-ranked Duke roll over Fairfield 110-44 on Tuesday night.
Abby Waner made her first seven shots, including two 3-pointers, to score all 16 of her points in the first half as Duke built a 65-23 advantage.
``When Abby came in, she gave us some great energy on both ends of the court,'' Duke coach Gail Goestenkors said.
Waner, the younger sister of sophomore transfer Emily Waner, said she wasn't bothered by coming off the bench.
``I don't really see it as an issue,'' she said. ``The way I see it, any of 13 players could start.''
Mistie Williams and Carrem Gay each added 14 for Duke (3-0). Alison Bales had 13 and Chante Black 12.
Sabra Wrice had 15 points and Cara Murphy 10 to lead Fairfield (0-2).
``They're not No. 1 for nothing,'' 27-year Fairfield coach Dianne Nolan said. ``They just have so many weapons.''
Duke scored 32 straight points in the first half to take control of the game. The Blue Devils missed eight of their first 10 shots, allowing Fairfield to take an 8-6 lead 4:36 into the game. Fairfield had 11 turnovers in its next 16 possessions and went 0-for-10 from the floor over the next 7:46 of play.
``I thought we'd be ready to go. We've had some good practices, but I thought we were a little sluggish to start with,'' Goestenkors said. ``I thought once we got going, we were pretty good.''
The Blue Devils shot 57 percent from the field (44-for-77) and held the Stags to just 27 percent (16-for-59).
Currie had her 20th double-double to help Duke score its most points since a 105-53 blowout of Northwestern State on Dec. 20, 2004.
