SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Shona Thorburn had 22 points and a career-high 13 assists, leading No. 23 Utah to an 81-54 rout of Gonzaga on Saturday.

Kim Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Utes, and Julie Larsen shot 3-for-6 on 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.

Ashley Anderson scored 16 points and Katy Ridenour had 10 points and a team-high six rebounds for Gonzaga, which was outrebounded 46-25.

With Utah leading 63-45 late in the second half, the Utes used a 16-6 run to stretch their advantage to 28 points.

Gonzaga used a 9-0 run to cut their deficit to 46-38 with 14:53 left in the second half. Utah's Kim Smith hit a 3-pointer about 1 1/2 minutes later and Gonzaga didn't get any closer again.

The Utes led by as many as 20 in the first half, but the Bulldogs closed the gap to 41-26 at halftime. Gonzaga, which missed 12 of its first 14 shots, was 30 percent from the field (9-for-30) in the first half, compared to Utah's 57 percent (16-for-28).

Anderson scored the game's first basket to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead, but the Utes responded with an 11-2 run to take the lead for good.
