ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Sherill Baker scored 19 points, and Megan Darrah and Tasha Humphrey had 18 apiece as No. 17 Georgia routed Savannah State 106-34 Saturday night.
Cori Chambers added 15 points for the Bulldogs (7-2), who limited the Lady Tigers to one field goal in the first half.
Tykira McDaniel scored 12 points, including seven of eight free throws, to lead Savannah State (1-7).
The Lady Tigers had 37 turnovers and finished 9-for-39 from the field. Four of those baskets came in a 3-minute span in the middle of the second half.
Savannah State committed 21 turnovers while shooting 1-for-18 from the field in the first half. Five of the missed shots were air balls. Georgia led 24-0 before the Lady Tigers, who had 14 turnovers in their first 16 possessions, got on the board with a pair of free throws 9:31 into the game.
Shamice James finally scored Savannah State's lone field goal of the first half with just 42 seconds remaining, when Georgia led 53-9. Chambers alone outscored the Lady Tigers in the opening period with 13 points.
The Lady Tigers took just 80 seconds to score their first field goal of the second half when Lashara Smith converted a rare fastbreak opportunity. But it was another 6 minutes before Savannah State made another basket.
Baker scored 10 points during Georgia's 12-2 run that stretched its lead to 69-15 with 13:43 to play.
