PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Nicole Jules scored a career-high 21 points, and sharp-shooting Liz Sherwood added 16 to lead No. 19 Vanderbilt over La Salle 70-57 Thursday.
Sherwood was 7-of-7 as the Commodores (9-3) cruised to a 45-25 halftime lead. She finished 8-of-9, combining with Jules to keep Vanderbilt comfortably ahead for much of the game.
Jules' previous career high was 18 points.
Jenna Graber led La Salle (3-6) with 12 points.
The Commodores led by as many as 23 points in the second half before La Salle used a 22-6 run over a span of 9:30 to get within 54-47 with 10:15 remaining. The Explorers got no closer thereafter.
Vanderbilt made 20 of 31 shots for 65 percent in the first half while La Salle connected was just 7-of-18.
Vanderbilt broke the game open early with a 15-0 run to take a 19-4 lead with 13:55 remaining in the first half on a 3-pointer by Christina Wirth. The Commodores extended their lead to as many as 21 points in the first half on a 3 by Jules for a 39-18 advantage with 4:23 left.
La Salle's Davineia Payne added 11 points and eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for her career. Carlene Hightower and Shaune McLaughlin added 10 points each.
