BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Kirby Copeland and Megan Finnerty scored 14 points apiece and No. 25 Virginia Tech beat Longwood 89-70 Wednesday night.

The Hokies (11-0) outrebounded the Lancers 52-27 and had 18 steals.

Copeland scored six straight points as Virginia Tech took a 16-point lead with 16:15 left in the game.

The Lancers cut it 60-52 with 12:48 remaining, but the Hokies followed with a 13-1 run to go ahead by 20. Longwood (3-9) got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Dawn Chriss added 11 points for Virginia Tech, which outscored Longwood 23-9 from the free-throw line.

Ashley Mason led Longwood with 17 points, and Amber Mason added 15.

Virginia Tech took the lead on two free throws by Finnerty, and used an 11-2 run to take its biggest lead of the first half at 17-7 at the 10:56 mark.

Amber Mason scored seven points as the Lancers fought back to tie it at 27 with 4:20 to go before the break. Copeland hit a free throw put the Hokies back on top and they never trailed, taking a 43-36 halftime lead.
