WASHINGTON (AP) - Khara Smith had 24 points and 18 rebounds to help No. 16 DePaul beat Georgetown 64-58 on Wednesday night.

Smith became DePaul's all-time leading rebounder and finished with her 17th double-double of the season.

The Blue Demons (21-5, 8-5 Big East) led 53-44 with 9:12 to play before the Hoyas battled back. Kate Carlin hit two 3-pointers to help Georgetown cut it to 53-52. Smith responded with two baskets and Allie Quigley, DePaul's second-leading scorer, made her first field goal of the game to close out the Hoyas.

Kierrah Marlow led the Hoyas (10-13, 3-9) with 22 points and Carlin finished with 12 points. Kristin Heidloff added 11.

The Hoyas opened the second half with a 7-0 run and Marlow's 12-footer gave Georgetown a 32-31 lead.

The Blue Demons struggled from outside in the first half but finally found their range when Holly Medley hit a 3-pointer. Georgetown took the lead again on a 3-pointer, but Rachael Carney hit a trey to start a 10-0 run that gave DePaul a 44-35 lead.

Smith, the Big East's leading rebounder this season, entered the game needing 14 rebounds to pass Diana Vines on the Blue Demons' all-time rebounding list and now has 1,274 career rebounds. DePaul has won three straight after losing three in row.

Smith had 12 points and eight rebounds in the first half and the Blue Demons led 31-25 at the break. DePaul went 1-for-10 from 3-point range in the first half.
