MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Janese Banks scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures as Wisconsin upset No. 17 Minnesota 67-61 on Sunday.

Danielle Ward scored underneath with 55.2 seconds left to break a 61-61 tie, and Banks sank four free throws in the final 18.1 seconds to ice the game for Wisconsin (11-16, 5-10 Big Ten).

The Badgers, who had blown leads down the stretch at home earlier in the season against ranked opponents Notre Dame and Michigan State, raced toward center court as time expired for a spirited celebration.

Jamie Broback scored 21 points for Minnesota (17-8, 9-5), which lost its fourth straight game.

Broback, who scored 15 points in the first half, was forced to the bench for a critical stretch in the second half with four fouls.

The 6-foot-3 forward exited the game with 12:32 left and the Gophers holding a 45-41 lead, and did not return until 3:45 left with her team down 59-55.

Broback scored and was fouled with 1:20 left to tie it at 61, but missed the free throw and the chance to give Minnesota the lead.

Jolene Anderson finished with 13 points for Wisconsin, her 27th consecutive game in double figures. Anderson scored on a pair of drives on back-to-back possessions to give Wisconsin a 59-55 lead.

Ashley Josephson added 13 points for the Badgers, including a pair of timely 3-pointers in the first half as Wisconsin came back from an early deficit.

Minnesota scored the game's first eight points, and rattled off a 9-0 spurt later in the half as the Gophers looked primed to pull away.

Shannon Schonrock, Minnesota's all-time leading 3-point shooter, hit her third 3-pointer with 5:05 left in the half to give the Gophers a 29-15 lead. Schonrock did not score in the second half, though, missing all of her 3-point attempts, including one that was blocked by Anderson with 7 seconds left.
