NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) - Britany Vinson led three players in double figures with 17 points as Stephen F. Austin won the Southland Conference tournament championship 56-48 over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday.
The Ladyjacks (23-7) earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
LaToya Mills scored 14 points and Nikki Carr added 12 for Stephen F. Austin, which has won 15 consecutive home games against the Roadrunners (18-12).
Vivian Ewalefo had her seventh double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds for UTSA, but the Roadrunners went scoreless for nearly five minutes late in the game to allow the Ladyjacks to pull away. Monica Gibbs had eight points and five assists for UTSA.
Stephen F. Austin held UTSA to six field goals and 17 percent shooting in the second half.
The Ladyjacks threatened to blow open the game in the first half, but Ewalefo had eight points during a 10-0 run that pulled the Roadrunners within two at the 4:40 mark.
