MALIBU, Calif. (AP) -Devanei Hampton scored 19 points off the bench and grabbed nine rebounds to lead No. 18 California over Florida 88-60 Friday night in the opening game of the Timeout for HIV/AIDS Tip-off Classic.
Ashley Walker added 17 points and eight rebounds, while Alexis Gray-Lawson had 13 points for the Golden Bears (2-0).
Marshae Dotson had 14 points and five rebounds for the Gators (1-2), while Sha Brooks added 11 points and four rebounds.
Cal went on an 11-0 run to take a 20-10 lead with 10:21 remaining in the half on a jumper by Gray-Lawson. The Bears led by as many as 25 points in the opening period before holding a 48-27 halftime lead.
The Bears' led by 30 points, their biggest lead of the night, with 37 seconds left in the game.
Florida led only once in the game when a three-pointer by Kim Dye put the Gators up by three early in the first half.
Cal shot 64.9 percent from the field as it held Florida to 32.3 percent.
