MALIBU, Calif. (AP) -Ashley Walker scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead No. 18 California over Pepperdine 72-54 in the Timeout for HIV/AIDS Tip-off Classic on Saturday night.

Devanei Hampton added 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Bears (3-0).

Daphanie Kennedy led the Waves (2-2) with 15 points, while Teiosha George added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Cal led by 12 points with 5:17 remaining in the first half, but Pepperdine closed with an 11-2 run to trail 28-27 at halftime.

The Bears pulled ahead in the second half and led by as many as 21 points with 3:43 remaining.

Cal shot 51.9 percent from the field as it held Pepperdine to 35 percent shooting.
