FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) -Crystal Langhorne scored 16 points and Laura Harper had 11 to help No. 1 Maryland rout Gardner-Webb 83-41 on Friday night in the fourth annual Junkanoo Jam on Grand Bahama Island.

Maryland (6-0) scored the first 13 points of the game and led 24-2.

Gardner-Webb (2-3) missed 20 of its first 24 attempts from the field, while Maryland hit 16 of its first 28 shots.

It was 38-8 with 3:48 to play in the first half, and Maryland coach Brenda Frese pulled most of her starters early in the second half.

``You can't complain when you're coming here to the Bahamas,'' Frese said. ``They've had a couple of wonderful days and enjoyed (Thanksgiving) and getting ready to play some games. I thought we had great first-half intensity. I'm not pleased with the second half, I think we need to do a much better job of picking up our intensity from half to half, especially on the defensive end.''

Despite the big margin, Frese said there's plenty the defending national champion Terrapins can learn from the game.

``The little things - keeping our focus, not having breakdowns off the dribble penetration, and executing on the offensive end,'' Frese said.

Candyse Kelly led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Maryland will play Mississippi on Saturday night.

``We're going to have to execute better on the offensive end,'' Frese said. ``And not be so methodical.''
