ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -Displeased with the recent past, Lindsey Harding was determined to quickly reverse her basketball fortunes.

Did she ever.

Harding scored 13 of her 19 points in the first half, leading No. 5 Duke to a 92-47 win over Michigan on Saturday night.

Harding tied a career high in scoring, helping erase the memories of three straight disappointing games in which she couldn't find any offensive rhythm.

``I was hoping (the shots) would start falling,'' said the senior guard. ``I was just taking the open shots that were there. I always want to set the tone.''

The Blue Devils (5-0) led by double digits most of the way after outscoring Michigan 12-2 in the opening 3 minutes. Duke, led by Harding's 13 first-half points, held as much as a 20-point advantage before taking a 44-26 halftime lead.

Duke connected on a season-high eight 3-pointers and established a new season high for field goal percentage, hitting 51.6 percent of its shots.

Duke's torrid perimeter performance opened up its inside game, which kept Michigan (4-2) off balance. The Blue Devils also had no problem scoring on the run, turning Michigan miscues into quick baskets.

``We didn't execute well early, and the one thing we wanted to do against this team was eliminate their easy opportunities,'' Michigan coach Cheryl Burnett said. ``I don't think we disrupted them very much from what they were trying to do.''

Offensively, the Wolverines were hampered by 23 turnovers.

The Wolverines, who got eight points from reserve sophomore forward Carly Benson, never got closer than 21 points in the second half. Even with a lead that grew as large as 45 points, the Blue Devils continued to execute on both ends of the floor, frustrating Michigan's young lineup.

Duke got 14 points from Alison Bales, who gave the Blue Devils an 83-43 lead by scoring inside with 3:51 remaining. Abby Waner also added 14 points for Duke, to go along with 11 from Carrem Gay.

``Over the course of the game, I think we stayed focused, and I thought that was important,'' Duke coach Gail Goestenkors said. ``Michigan tried to make a couple of runs, but I thought we withstood all of their challenges.''
