SEATTLE (AP) -Cameo Hicks and Andrea Plouffe each had 18 points as Washington defeated Florida State 84-65 on Sunday.

Hicks, who was 7-of-15 with nine rebounds and six assists, has scored in double figures in 10 of 11 games. Plouffe was 8-of-14 despite being hit twice in the mouth - including once in the first half when she left the game after being knocked to the floor with a bloody lip after being called for a block.

Washington (7-4), who defeated Florida State 71-69 in Tallahassee last year in the only previous meeting between the teams, extended its non-conference home winning streak dating back to 2004 to 11 games.

Shante Williams had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Seminoles (10-2), the top ``receiving votes'' getter in the AP poll. Florida State was looking to crack the top 25 this week for the first time since Jan. 31, 2005 when they were 24th.

The Huskies, who are undefeated in six home games this year, have road losses to No. 8 Ohio State, No. 13 Purdue, and No. 21 Marquette and Kent State, and are playing their best basketball of the season heading into Pac-10 play Thursday.

Washington, which only shot 15-of-27 from the line, scored 30 points off Florida State's 23 turnovers - nine by Williams - and had 21 assists. The Seminoles had outrebounded its opponents by 12 1/2 per game but got outrebounded 40 to 38.

Trailing 9-6, Washington scored on its next 11 possessions to open up a 28-18 lead by making 13 of its first 20 shots. The Seminoles scored on five straight possessions to cut the deficit to four at 32-28.

But Florida State, who came as close as three points at 35-32, was held to one field goal for the final 5:13 of the first half. Washington led 47-38 at halftime on Hicks' 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Washington's 11-5 run to start the second made it 58-43, and the Huskies led by as many as 24 at 79-55 with 4:07 remaining.

It was the hometown return for Seminoles' coach Sue Semrau, who was was a 1980 graduate of Shorecrest High School and spent two years at the University of Puget Sound.

Semrau, who replaced former Washington coach Chris Gobrecht at Florida State in 1997, was assessed a technical foul at the 16:04 mark of the second half. The situation had been brewing since early in the game, when Semrau began chipping at the officals every few possessions about calls.
