MILWAUKEE (AP) -Christina Quaye scored 22 points to help No. 21 Marquette beat St. John's 69-58 on Tuesday night.

Marquette (21-4 overall, 9-3 Big East) equaled its best 25-game start in school history and moved to 10-1 at home this season. The Golden Eagles are 44-7 all-time at the Al McGuire Center.

St. John's (7-16, 3-9) lost its fourth straight game for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

Quaye, who scored a career-high 27 points in a win over Georgetown on Saturday, has tallied at least 20 points in three straight games. She had 13 points in the second half as the Golden Eagles shot 58.1 percent after the break.

Kia Wright led St. John's with 17 points, including a half-court buzzer-beater to end the first half, and Monique McLean added 16.

St. John's opened the game with eight straight points and led 11-3 in the first 6 minutes. The Golden Eagles responded, eventually taking their first lead, 23-22, on Quaye's layup with 1:23 left in the first half. They would not trail again.

Wright's half-court banker tied the game at 25 at intermission.
