WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -Two Creighton women scored career highs to help the Bluejays to a 71-68 win over Wichita State on Sunday.
The victory secured Creighton (11-16, 8-8) a top-six seed for the upcoming State Farm MVC Tournament.
The Bluejays led by as many as 18 with 48 seconds left in the half, but the Shockers (9-17, 4-12) made up much of that after intermission. They gained their first lead of the game - 64-62 - off a three-pointer from Lexee McDonnell with 4:11 left on the clock.
Creighton regained the lead seconds later on a three-pointer from Tyrai Bronson, one of four she made off six attempts.
Sara Cain tied her career-best 19 points and posted eight rebounds to lead Creighton in scoring. Bronson recorded a career high of her own - 12 points. Her previous high was 10.
Whitney Rice and Antionette Wells each put up 13 points for the Shockers. Wells also had 11 rebounds.
