NEW YORK (AP) -Krystal Ellis scored 19 points to lead No. 23 Marquette to a 69-60 victory over St. Johns Monday night.
Christina Quay added 14 points for the Golden Eagles (24-5, 12-4 Big East), who led 31-17 at the half.
Kia Wright scored a game-high 23 points for the Red Storm (8-19, 4-12), who lost their third straight game. Monique McLean added 14 for St. John's.
A free throw by McLean got St. Johns within 10-9, but Marquette used a 17-2 run behind Ellis six points to take a commanding 27-11 lead.
The Golden Eagles outscored the Red Storm 25-10 for a 56-37 lead - their largest of the game - in the second half on a free throw by Kelly Lam.
