CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) -Emily Tay and Lindsay Hallion scored 13 points apiece and Harvard defeated Cornell 64-48 Friday night to earn the first berth into the women's NCAA tournament.
Katie Rollins added 11 points for Harvard (13-12, 11-1 Ivy League), which earned the berth by winning the league title.
Moina Snyder led Cornell (12-14, 7-5) with 14 points.
Harvard trailed 21-11 with 12:21 remaining in the first half, but went on a 19-5 run to end the half. Hallion and Tay combined for 10 points during the run.
Harvard never trailed again, holding Cornell to 29 percent shooting in the second half and 32 percent for the game.
