MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -Alyssa Wahl scored 20 points, and Kim Winkfield had seven points in the final 1:38 to help Northern Arizona beat No. 25 Montana 64-59 in the Big Sky Conference tournament semifinals Friday night.

Montana (27-3), playing its first game as a ranked team, led 45-40 with 8:23 remaining after two free throws by Mandy Morales.

Back-to-back layups by Katie Schafer and a 3-pointer by Kim Metz helped NAU (20-11) tie it at 47 with 5:05 remaining. Metz hit two free throws to give NAU a 49-47 lead with 4:38 remaining, and Montana never led again.

Northern Arizona took a 58-54 lead on a 3-pointer by Winkfield with 1:38 remaining.

A three-point play by Morales pulled Montana to 58-57 with 1:23 remaining. But Winkfield made a jumper with 40 seconds left and two free throws with 28 seconds left to seal the win.

Winkfield and Megan Porter finished with 12 points for NAU, which will face Idaho State in the championship game Saturday night.

Morales led Montana with 18 points and had five assists, while Dana Conway and Britney Lohman each scored 12 points.

Montana, which led 29-23 at halftime, saw its 11-game winning streak end in its first home loss of the season.
