EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -Allyssa DeHaan had 16 points, including her first collegiate 3-pointer, and blocked eight shots to help balanced Michigan State beat Evansville 73-53 Sunday in the second round of the Preseason WNIT.

DeHaan, a 6-foot-9 sophomore center, was almost unstoppable inside and grabbed nine rebounds for the No. 17 Spartans (2-0).

Freshmen Cetera Washington and Kalisha Keane were almost as strong at the forward positions. Washington had 15 points and Keane 13. Each had seven rebounds and three assists.

Lauren Aitch and Courtney Davidson provided sparks off the bench. Aitch had 12 points and led a 13-0 run late in the first half. Davidson had nine points and six assists, including several feeds to DeHaan.

The Purple Aces (1-1) got 27 points beyond the arc and just 24 on two-point baskets. After living at the foul line with 66 attempts in an exhibition game and a first-round win over Marshall, Evansville attempted just two free throws.

Courtney Felke led the Aces with 12 points, all from long range. Ashley Austin and Tal Milchan each had 10 points.

Evansville led 18-14 before the Spartans adjusted and got help from their bench. Michigan State finished with 25 assists on 29 baskets.
