TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Tamela McCorvey scored 14 points to lead No. 18 Auburn to a 64-47 victory over UC-Riverside on Friday night in the first round of the Arizona State University Classic.

The Tigers will play No. 14 Arizona State, a 78-60 winner over Gonzaga on Friday, in Sunday's championship game.

Auburn (7-0) used a 14-0 run, sparked by a pair of 3-pointers by McCorvey, late in the first half to take control. The Tigers led 32-16 at the break after Riverside (0-5) missed 19 of 26 first-half field goals. Auburn ran off nine straight points in the first 5 minutes of the second half and led by 26.

Kemie Nkele had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Highlanders, who shot just 29.3 percent from the field (17-of-58).

Alli Smalley added 11 points for the Tigers, who have won their first seven games by an average of 22 points. McCorvey, who came in averaging just 7.3 points, was 3-of-7 from 3-point range.

DeWanna Bonner, who had nine points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers, fed Trevesha Jackson for a layup that started the 14-point spurt, leaving Auburn with a 31-15 lead with 2:39 left.

The Tigers scored 19 points off 14 Highlanders turnovers in the first 20 minutes.
