Oakland, Mich. 85, No. 21 Florida St. 75

12/2/2007 6:31 PM

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) -Hanna Reising scored 23 points and Jessica Pike added 20 as Oakland shocked No. 21 Florida State 85-75 on Sunday.

Florida State (6-2) trailed by as many as 19 points in the second half but got as close as 77-73 with 4:37 remaining. But Oakland (4-2) scored eight of the game's final 10 points to finish off the upset.

A Pike basket extended the lead to 82-75 before Reising capped the win with two free throws with 30.1 seconds remaining.

Tanae Davis Cain led the Seminoles with 16 points.

Oakland, which doesn't have a starter taller than 5-foot-11, outscored Florida State 40-30 in the post while also holding a 37-35 rebounding edge against their third ranked opponent this season.

``I think (not being intimidated in the post) is one of the benefits of playing the schedule we play,'' said Oakland coach Beckie Francis, whose team lost earlier to No. 7 Georgia and No. 24 Auburn.

The Golden Grizzlies led 48-31 at halftime after Reising beat the first-half buzzer with a 3-point field goal. Mara Freshour, who scored 14 points along with teammate Jacinta Monroe, hit a 3-pointer with 11:59 remaining to trim Oakland's lead to 62-54.

``We didn't take advantage of our size inside,'' Seminoles coach Sue Semrau said. ``We're not ready as a defensive basketball team to be spread out the way we were.''
