CANCUN, Mexico (AP) -Sylvia Fowles scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures as No. 8 LSU routed Illinois-Chicago 86-44 on Tuesday at the Cancun Classic.

After a slow start, Fowles opened the second half with back-to-back three-point plays. The senior center added a couple of lay-ups as the Lady Tigers extended their lead to 59-26, then was able to rest on the bench the remainder of the game.

LSU (8-2) won its fourth straight.

Fowles, who came in averaging 17.9 points, shot just 1-for-5 in the first half. She only had to play 18 minutes.

Quianna Chaney scored 14 points, Allison Hightower had 13 and Ashley Thomas added 10 for LSU, which will face Miami on Wednesday to complete the two-day event.

Jessica Miller led all UIC scorers with 12 points. The Flames lost their fourth in a row and will play Wednesday against Southern Miss, which earlier lost to Miami.
