PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -Caprice Smith scored 15 points, Felicia Chester added 13 and No. 24 DePaul held off Providence 66-55 Saturday to snap a two-game losing streak.
Allie Quigley led DePaul (12-3, 1-1 Big East) with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Freshman Mi-Khida Hankins paced Providence (10-5, 0-2 Big East) with 20 points to equal her season high and Kendria Holmes added 11.
The Friars led by as many as six points early in the first half, but the Blue Demons regained the lead at 25-24 with 7:47 left on a pair of free throws by Chester.
Providence shot 58 percent from the floor in the first half but trailed 42-37 at the break. The Friars shot just 15 percent in the second half.
