PITTSBURGH (AP) -Taneisha Harrison scored 18 points to lead No. 19 Pittsburgh to a 76-67 victory over Louisville on Sunday.
Xenia Stewart added 16 points and eight rebounds for Pitt (16-3, 6-0 Big East). Shavonte Zellous, who leads the Big East in scoring, finished with 14 points, Mallorie Winn added 11 and Marcedes Walker finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Angel McCoughtry, who is second behind Zellous in conference scoring, scored 33 points for Louisville (13-7, 2-5). Candyce Bingham added 18 points.
Louisville started quickly and built a 15-point lead at 21-6 when McCoughtry hit a 3-pointer at the 12:47 mark. Pittsburgh closed within a point twice late in the half, but Louisville carried a 35-31 lead into the break.
In the second half, Zellous evened the score with a free throw at the 18:44 mark. Stewart hit two free throws 41 seconds later that put Pittsburgh ahead.
Louisville rebounded to tie the score at 39-all, but the Panthers used a 10-0 run to take the lead for good.
The Panthers held their sixth annual ``Pack the Petersen'' event. Tickets sold for $1 in an effort to fill the arena. Attendance was 8,509 in the 12,500-seat arena.
